| Do you remember what is like to be served by your supplier? Our company is involved in one of the most competitive industries, in one of the most competitive parts of the country. As such, it is understandable that a customer would want to know why in the world should they grace us with their business. Well, there are many reasons but the number one reason is service. We have found that we are one of the few suppliers left who actually understand the value of service. In fact, we even have found that many perspective customers hadn't put dollars and cents to the value of a supplier's service in the field themselves. The customers who have though, have realized that while they sometimes pay a little more at our place for material, they save much more money in the long run. What our customers have found is that while our quote may sometimes come in a little higher than our competitors they actually spend much more with them by having their crews stand around doing unproductive work while waiting on a material delivery that is needed for the productive work. But that's not all. Many customers have testified to how much time they have to spend on auditing our competitor's invoices. It seems that they sometimes have to spend several hours per month on this function because the price our competitors quoted them never seemed to wind up on the actual invoice. The invoices are often much more! We at ACS like the "Keep it simple" rule when it comes to service. We feel like service is actually a very simple thing. Just give the customer what they want and do what you say you are going to do. Every time. Service is expensive for us and takes a constant commitment but there is little that costs more to a customer in the field than a lazy, non-committed supplier who doesn't attend to their needs.
